About the Founder
Alexandria Martin
Lived Experience Expert · Advocate · Visionary
Alexandria Martin is the founder of Inspire Light. A survivor of child sexual exploitation and human trafficking, Alexandria carries lived experience combined with her recovery from substance abuse and mental health struggles. Her pain turned purpose has shaped her commitment to building and holding spaces where healing is possible—especially for mothers.

After earning her Psychology degree in 2017, Alexandria began a career in corporate recruiting, where she spent over six years helping others find purpose in their careers and financial stability. But her true calling emerged after the birth of her son in 2023, when she saw firsthand the lack of safe, supportive spaces for mothers with lived experience to heal with their children. She leaned into the wisdom of survivor leaders, anti-trafficking experts, nonprofit leaders, research, and law enforcement. For two years Alexandria volunteered in human trafficking safe homes, asked hard questions, made mistakes, and still continues to learn.

That vision became Inspire Light—a grassroots, survivor-led movement to create safe housing and healing opportunities for survivor mothers and their families. Alexandria’s journey through trauma, recovery, motherhood, and leadership fuels the mission every day: to restore dignity, rebuild lives, and create a future where survivors and their children can thrive—together.

The Story Behind Inspire Light
Planted in Purpose. Growing in Community.
Inspire Light began as a seed of vision in 2023, planted in the heart of our founder, a survivor of child sexual exploitation who transformed her personal pain into a calling. Through her journey of recovery from substance abuse and sexual trauma, she was led by a spiritual calling to create something life-giving for others walking a similar path. What emerged was a vision rooted in love of a safe homestead sanctuary where mothers and their children could heal side by side.
As the epidemic of human trafficking and sexual exploitation grew, so too was the urgent need for survivor-led spaces. Places where women and children who had experienced prostitution, child sexual abuse, trafficking, or commercial exploitation could safely reconnect with themselves, their families, their community, and their futures. Inspire Light was born out of this urgency, but it was nurtured through spirituality, faith, community, and a higher purpose to serve the most unseen.
From the very beginning, this vision did not grow in isolation. It took root in the community with the support of survivor advocates, law enforcement partners, mental and medical health professionals, and allies who shared a belief that healing should be led by those who’ve lived through it.
In July 2025, Inspire Light officially became a 501(c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization marking a new season of growth and deepening our roots in Colorado soil.
We believe healing is generational. When mothers are given the safety and space to heal, their children begin to thrive too.
This is not a place of rescue, it is a place of remembrance. A spiritual homestead where survivors can reclaim their identity, grow into their own rhythm, and heal from the inside out.
Here, every woman and child are reminded: You are seen. You are safe. You are not alone. Together, we are growing something eternal.
